International Women’s Day 2015: Make it Happen
Christ Presbyterian Church
944 East Gorham Street
Madison, WI 53703
Join us in bringing together women of all backgrounds to celebrate International Women’s Day. The theme this year is “Make It Happen!” Many people, organizations and institutions have been engaged in improving the lives of women locally, nationally, and internationally. They work in areas such as economic develppment, community development, education, health, science and technology, politics and government, the arts, and women’s empowerment. We would like to come together to celebrate their work, encourage others, and plan ways for improving the lives of women all over the world. We will also make items to donate to local communities.
Saturday, May 10, 2014
Place: Meet outside at Walgreens (downtown) on the square at 11:45am to gather and walk to Capitol steps to start the rally. Persons arriving after 12noon, join us on the Capitol steps.
Come out and join the voices of local women, men, and allies standing in solidarity to demand the return of the 234+ school girls kidnapped from their village in Chibok, Nigeria on April 15th.
Stand in support with local Nigerian women, and African women from across the diaspora to make a bold statement of solidarity; and demand that our leaders here and abroad, and the Nigerian government ACT NOW to find and return these young women safe and sound to their families.
Spread the word! Stand up to #BringBackOurGirls!
